Ken was a very active member of the club, running the girls junior side, playing regularly in mixed matches, inaugurating the winter league and supporting club sessions and social events with much enthusiasm. He has been greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family. Club membership has again been close to the 300 mark and we are continually looking at ways to improve our club. Further to this, floodlights were finally installed on courts 4 & 5 and have proved very beneficial this winter. We offer the opportunity for non-members to take part in the LTA Play Tennis Days, which this year are 25th April, 30th May and 29th August. Club Nights and Competitions MISSING TROPHY. The Mens Humber Bridge Trophy, which is awarded annually, is missing. If anyone knows of its whereabouts, please inform the Secretary. We had a successful club tournament last summer and the format will continue this year. Finals day and BBQ are scheduled for Sunday July 18th. See entry form attached. Club mix-in sessions continue throughout the year as follows: Monday and Thursday evenings from 6pm and Sunday and Tuesday mornings from 10am. Again all players are welcome. Teams for all standards will be entered in the Hull and District League again and all members are invited to attend pre-season practices. All players who want match play should attend. See club noticeboard. D. P. Horsley Memorial Award
Many of you will have seen the awards board in the Clubhouse and perhaps are unaware as to how this scheme works. Broadly it is to recognise a maximum of two junior players contribution to the Club as a whole, i.e. :
This award, we believe is unique in the area and if members are aware of any juniors who are likely to be possible candidates then can they speak with a member of the committee.
